What is an Amazon Kindle and why should I buy one?

The Kindle is a thin, lightweight, electronic reading device used to download books, newspapers or magazines. Made by Amazon, you have access to a library of over 1.5million books, top magazines and newspapers, all at a cheaper price than buying the paperback version.

Rather than glare like a computer screen, the e-ink display simulates paper, which makes it easier in the eyes, and means you can read really easy in direct sunlight.

If you travel, even just for a holiday, the Kindle is a godsend. I’m the kind of person to stock up on several weighty novels to keep me company before I fly anywhere. The whole experience was made infinitely easier once I bought a Kindle, weighing in a little under 170 grams!

With a Kindle, you can have full access to a whole range of literature literally at the click of a button. Being the central hub for books online, I’ve yet to come across a single book title not available.

The Kindle is also much more travel proof than a book. You can wipe it clean, and in my experience, a little splashed water does it no harm.
